A photograph of the bottom of Summerhill Road in Wexford Town. In the past, roads and streets were given the name "Summer" if they were only passable / usable in fine weather. As you can probably imagine, steep hills like this one would have been pretty difficult to traverse in wet weather conditions, as the mud and dirt would have turned into a sloppy slippery mess!
Summerhill Road contains the entrances to Saint Peter's College (school), College Green (estate) and the "Bishop's Palace."
This was taken at the roundabout that intersects Talbot Green, Grogan's Road, Davitt Road and Summerhill Road. Photo date: 3rd Jan 2015.
